TreeBones Resort, Big Sur

TreeBones Resort, Big Sur

I have been wanting to go to Big Sur for so long and I finally was able to plan the best tip with one of my good friends. We stayed at TreeBones Resort and it was the perfect combination of nature, relaxation, adventure, and starry nights. TreeBones is definitely a “glamping” experience so if your okay with sharing showers/bathrooms and not having any cellphone service then you will thrive here :)

They describe TreeBones as “perched lightly off the edge”. The natural landscape still flows throughout the resort and they installed yurts for minimal impact on the land . They tried to make everything environmentally friendly to hopefully inspire their guests to start being aware of our choices and how it affects the environment also how easy it is to change some of our wasteful habits :) They actually grow their own food in the garden they built right in the middle of the resort and the food was amazing!!

This place is in the middle of the state park so there’s no service anywhere, which allowed you to fully disconnect. Waking up to nothing but the sound of nature was wonderful.

On our first day we woke up and did a morning yoga class with almost everyone that was staying at the resort. After our yoga session we ate breakfast and swam in the pool! We decided to venture right down the street to a lookout point where we watched the giant waves come in. We were actually supposed to kayak that day, but we cancelled since the waves were like 10 ft 😄lol no thank you.

After that we had our massages , ate lunch, and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon by the pool with a glass of wine. Then we drank more wine and did another yoga class and then had another glass of wine and then ate a bomb dinner while watching the sunset with a glass of wine!!🍷🍷🍷

The second day we had a guided hiking tour from Central Coast Outdoors and they were amazing!! They showed us places that we would have never thought to have gone. The guide was very helpful, but a lot of the hikes you could find on your own if you did some research.

HIKES AND PLACES TO VISIT

We stayed in the most southern part of Big Sur so I’m sure there are a ton more hikes up north and other things that you could do. I’m actually going back in a couple of weeks so hopefully I can update this with more recommendations. For food we ate at the resort every day (no complaints!!). They had complimentary breakfast and then the restaurant offered lunch (sit down or to-go) and their dinners were absolutely amazing.

I definitely recommend this trip if you don’t mind sharing bathrooms/showers and can survive a day with no cellphone service ;) Check out their video.

Also @shelbyrothberg edited some of these photos and she wanted me to tell you all.
